Photoshoot

Several days ago I took my kiddos out to snap some photos of them...I like taking pictures, they like me taking pictures of them. It's a perfect marriage! I even got some with Chayce and her beau...they are so cute, they could almost pass for brother and sister with their dark brown eyes and brown hair...shhh, don't tell her I said that, she'd probably get mad! Oh well, here are a select few:

I have such beautiful, photogenic kids...there I said it. HA!

Words of the day

Chayce: How many kids are you going to have when you grow up?
Camden: 40, so I can give all of them love.
Mom: (teary-eyed) Sigh...

9 YEARS

Yesterday, 9 years ago I married my love, James.  We got married at a tiny little bed & breakfast in (a small  town) Decatur, Texas surrounded by our families.  My dad walked me down the isle and Chayce was our flower girl. It was a candlelight ceremony which was beautiful but hot because they had to turn off the a/c in order for all the candles to stay lit.  We had a little wedding cake and we all went to dinner at a country-fied restaurant near the b&b called Cowcamp...seriously!  After the celebratory dinner, everyone left and we got the whole bed and breakfast to ourselves.  It was decorated so sweet with antiques and beautiful linens and there was even a huge jacuzzi tub in the bathroom.  We spent our first night there as husband and wife.  The next morning we woke up to have breakfast at a little cafe on the square of downtown Decatur...it was truly a Mayberry-esque weekend.

Yesterday, on my anniversary, I woke up to a sweet anniversary card in my jewelry box.  I love getting cards from James because he always writes something so sincere and beautiful in them, words that many times I do not deserve.  I worked all day at the salon and I had a mighty good day too!  I had 4 walk-ins.  I thought it would have been slow with the weather all yucky and rainy out but business was good.  Since the weather was yucky, James was able to leave work at a decent time and we were able to meet for dinner...kid free.  Nothing fancy but it was so nice, a night out for dinner...alone.  We came home and were able to curl up on the couch to watch a movie.  What a great anniversary it was, just reflecting on our day and being alone, that's what I call fabulous!

I love you muff!

Totally 80's!!!

Oh my goodness, this isn't normally music that I listen to but thanks to my dear Chayce, I am totally hooked!!  It reminds me of the music I grew up listening to in the 80's and her make-up and hair ROCK in the video.  I will be adding it to my playlist soon, but in the meantime...ENJOY!  It's a catchy little tune!

A day of birth...

What is a birthday other than getting one year older?  I used to really look forward to my birthdays as a kid: presents, cake, attention...this amazing day that was all about celebrating 'me.'  It's just not the same as an adult, now I don't really look forward to my birthday all that much...34 years old today, what's so great about 34?  My family loves to give me a hard time...Chayce made me a card last night and called me an old bag in it...it was pretty funny, pretty funny until James said he liked it...he better not think that he can start calling me "Old Bag"!!

My love made me brownies last night because I told him I'd rather have brownies this year than a cake.  SO I have been eating my birthday brownies all day today!  Not so good I'm thinking...

Okay, to answer my question about what's so great about turning 34???  Well I have so much to be thankful for...I have a husband who loves me like no other man ever has.  I have three beautiful, healthy kids who love me even when I'm at my worst and I am totally unreasonable!  I have a job...two jobs actually that I absolutely love.  I have an amazing, supportive family...and it's summertime, need I say more?  You know, as I think about it...my life is really just beginning!  Who knew 34 could be so great?!?

Now, if you will excuse me I'm off to get a pedicure that my mom gave me for my birthday...I guess I still do get presents and attention on my birthday!!
YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!
